Creative and Therapeutic Arts Practitioner

I am a disabled textile artist based in South Wales.  I moved to Wales when I was 12 yrs. old, and as I made Wales my home, I welcomed the deep sense of belonging and transformation to me as a person and as an artist.  The people and land around me became my inspiration, but more than that I enjoy drawing from the land, growing plants and vegetables and foraging the local land for items that can be integrated into my artwork or used to make dyes.

I enjoy working with wool, especially crocheting and felting. Felting was introduced to me two years ago, and it ignited a passion in me.  It enables me to paint with wool and create 2D and 3D images, full of depth, texture, and character.

My work as a Creative Arts Practitioner has led me to a degree in Creative and Therapeutic Arts.  I have experience working with both adults and children, and also additional needs, autism, chronic pain, and mental health.   Arts in health and promoting well-being are something I am passionate about.  I enjoy working in the local community, facilitating person-centred workshops to enhance the well-being of participants.

Outside of this organisation, I also have my own business called FerryBoatArts where I facilitate community workshops.
